Language

The title, tag-line, billing block (information about the director and the production team all follow)All follow the conventions of a film poster. The main prop in the poster is the shark underneath the woman implying that the shark is going to kill the woman. Also, the shark being in the poster shows that the shark is the main plot of the movie and will be a big part in it.

Audience

The target audience for this film would probably be young adults and mainly men viewer due to the content relying on sharks , action and horror. 

Industry

The film was produced by David brown and Richard D. Zanuck from universal pictures .Therefore ,the film being made by very high-profile people made the movie very popular leading to a sequel being made.

Representation

The poster shows a woman swimming happily in the see but underneath the water is a huge shark going towards her with its mouth open. The sharks mouth being open implies to a viewer that the shark is getting ready to eat woman. This shows that the movie would be very thrilling and dark.
