Demographics and Psychographics

 1) What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience

age , gender, social class ,location

2) Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics?

because they want the audience to relate with the adverts.


3) What are the seven different Psychographic groups? 

The struggler the resigned the succeeder the explorer the reformer the aspirer and the mainstream 

4) Write a brief summary of what each Psychographic group is seeking or motivated by.

the struggler: disorganised, aimless and seek escape
the resigned: warm nostalgic glow, safety, older people 
the succeeder: self confidence, very organised, position of responsibility
the explorer: driven, young in nature, explorers, seek out 
the reformer: independent, anti-materialistic, socially aware, authentic
the aspirer: materialistic, acquisitive, superficial, charisma 
the mainstream: domestic, fundamental, mainstream, security

5) What psychographic group or groups do YOU belong in? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision. Remember, you may fit into two or three different groups! 

I think i fit into the mainstream group as I have a daily routine that is very fundamental to me
